Soccer--a tradition here at home in Buffalo, WY!
Plan to spend the first weeks of summer attending camp here at home in Buffalo! JCSA is proud to offer not 1 but 2 camps for our kids of all ages and stages to learn and develop their soccer skills!
British Challenger Camp will be June 4-8 at Meadowlark Field for our newer players, ages U4-U10. This is a great camp to begin to develop your player's individual skills and love of soccer. The format is geared on fun, skills and games with coaches joining us from Britain! Register online here !
Blast in the Big Horns will be held June 11-14 at Meadowlark Field for our more advanced players. Camp sessions are grouped by stages: Morning session U11-U13 and Evening session U14-U18. This is a great camp opportunity led by Coach Paolo Rizzon from Montana. Coach Rizzon came to Buffalo two years ago and worked with our High School players on advanced tactics. Last year he sent us Coach Ross McMonies--again focusing on advanced technique and tactics. Don't miss this camp--you get your money's worth plus much more! Information and Registration forms available here !
JCSA Board adopts Zero Tolerance Policy :
During the regular monthly board meeting, members voted unanimously to institute a Zero Tolerance Policy on Referee Abuse. We
as a club feel very strongly about the growth of our players. Not only
have we been working to increase membership and opportunities for our
players, but we have begun working and growing our players into
referees. This is not a task that we take lightly. For our players to
become referees, they need opportunities to grow and learn on and off
the field.
Over the last few weeks we have had complaints and have witnessed incidents that
have resulted in individual conversations with coaches and parents. Please
understand that this will no longer be tolerated.
Why a Policy ? This policy is being implemented to eliminate referee abuse, both
physical and verbal, and to discourage public dissent of a referee. It is never
acceptable to verbally abuse referees in any situation. There are appropriate
avenues for coaches or spectators to share concerns about the quality of
officiating. The Referee Coordinator (Darcy Goni) is welcome to hear any
constructive comments on referees. But, any criticism or critique of a youth
referee's performance should only be communicated to the youth by a properly
trained Referee Mentor.
Youth development is a central focus of the JCSA program. This includes
development of youth whether they are soccer players or soccer referees.
Verbal abuse of youth referees is as unacceptable as verbal abuse of youth
players. The purpose of this policy is to make clear that verbal abuse of
referees is unacceptable and to adopt basic standard sanctions for improper
conduct.
This policy is not intended to imply that referees are always right and the
adult spectator or coach is always wrong. However, we must remember that just
as youth players will make mistakes during play, youth referees will make mistakes
in officiating, particularly in their first seasons as they are learning how to
referee.
